Who is ready to rock the new school year? Lately it seems like there has been a lot of pressure on girls to have the perfect smokey eye or the perfect eyebrows. Who says you can't just wear makeup just because you like it? I have been watching a lot of older teen and college movies lately and most of them focus on girls' natural beauty. Yes times are different now, but who says we can't bring back the true natural beauty trend?
If you are a girl like me who enjoys their beauty sleep in the morning, it is essential to find a makeup routine that works with you. If you are one of those girls that enjoys waking up early in the morning to do your hair and makeup, more power to you, but there also might be some corners you can also cut in the morning because every minute of getting ready is precious.
Prior to going back to school, figure out what your makeup style is. Are you a foundation and mascara kind of girl or are you a winged smokey eye kind of gal? Either way knowing what works best for you will save you time in the morning of getting ready.
For all of you Decadent Darlings out there that love a fresh face with little to no makeup there are a lot of options for you out there. First cleanse and moisturize your skin. This will not only help you keep a clear face, but it will keep your skin looking fresh and radiant all day.
Next, you will want to pick out a BB cream or a light coverage foundation for your face. My favorite BB cream and light coverage foundation is from the drug store. I love the Gargnier Miracle Skin Perfecter BB Cream in medium/deep. That is the original one but they do have other one's for anti-aging, shine control, and acne control. This BB cream is great because it is a nice neutral undertone tinted moisturizer that is very hydrating and it makes the skin look amazing. My favorite foundation is the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation in Neutral n4. I love how luminous this foundation is and what is nice is that it is very lightweight but the coverage is buildable. If you are more on the oily side you can use the original L'Oreal True Match Foundation and it works just as well as the other one does.
After you have applied your BB cream or foundation you can choose if you want to put concealer on or not. To avoid putting more products on my face I have been skipping this step lately but if you feel like you need it go right ahead!
To really make this makeup look stand out it is good to pick a blush and a lip color that will not only compliment your skin tone but also bring in a fun element to your makeup look. When picking out a blush, it is good to consider a couple different things: what your skin-tone is and what color lipstick you plan to wear. Knowing your skin-tone is a big way to successfully pick out makeup that will be the most flattering on you. For a classic timeless look I always end up picking out a light dusty pink color. I love this shade of blush not only because it is timeless but it looks good on almost any skin-tone. With this color blush you can pick whatever lip color you want and it will be flattering. With these kinds of makeup looks, I like the look of a clean face and eyes with a bright lip. My hands down favorite lipstick to wear with this look is Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Vivid Rose. It is creamy, pigmented, and does not feather when I wear it.
Finish this look off with applying your favorite mascara and you are ready to rock your day at school!
This makeup look can be altered to your own needs. This look is what has worked for me whenever I go to school but if you want to do something completely different you can. What is nice about this makeup look is it is a nice canvas for doing so much more, especially if you are going day to night. However you plan to rock your school makeup, you will look amazing no matter what!
